Case Study | Home Office UGR

With working from home becoming a trend in these uncertain times we decided to conduct a case study to see how our system could sufficiently light a home office space without providing glare on the computer screens in task areas.

Anti-Glare Technology

Naturally, we thought our Anti-Glare system would be most effective in an environment like this. Utilized with our X Pendant series we were able to evenly distribute light throughout the room without any glare spots in the task or lounge area.

To be able to check and see if the computer monitors would receive any glare from our system we placed a couple calculation surfaces roughly where the computers might be and ran the simulation. Using a 4x2 grid of calculation points, we are able to see if there’s any high intensity glare points on the screen.

With this system, the computer screens would have a UGR of <10, meaning the glare is non-existent.

The desks would be optimal for computer work due it’s dim light setting and if hand writing was needed a separate task light would be have to be implemented.
